  • President, WOW! Productions – event producer & public relations/community outreach for corporate, community, social & nonprofit events.
  • Founded WhiteSatinWeddingShow.com, virtual wedding show for SoCal soon to have a television series to start taping in 4/18.
  • Partnership with the Aquarium of the Pacific since 2002 to produce the Annual Autumn Festival (celebrates the cultures of Japan, China, Korea & the Philippines) now in its 17th year (2018).
  • Worked on the nationally aired American Comedy Awards for 14 years as the Assistant Event Coordinator-strong work with A-List celebrities.
 
KELLYE WALLETT STUDIO:  Business partner with Kellye Nakahara Wallett, Pasadena artist but best known in her role as Nurse Kellye in the television series M*A*S*H for 11 years.  Responsible for merchandise, promotion, publicity and public appearances.
Kellye’s art is on loan to the City of Pasadena on the walls of City Hall.  She recently did a commissioned painting celebrating 85th Anniversary of Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
 
COMMUNITY EVENTS:
  • Founder/producer of the Cherry Blossom Festival, (2002-2011) held in Pasadena and downtown LA for 10 years with over 60,000 attendees; recruited and managed a 100% volunteer team and donated 500 cherry trees to the City of Pasadena that are planted in Victory Park, along Sierra Madre Bldg., Bungalow Heaven, San Rafael Park, etc.
  • Producer of “Six Weddings & A Dress” exhibit (of dress designed and worn in Manzanar concentration camp during WWII, then worn in five post-WWII weddings by Japanese-American brides who settled in Pasadena.  Featured at the Pasadena Museum of History as part of 2013 “I Do I Do Pasadena Ties the Knot.” On tour annually at the Aquarium of the Pacific Autumn Festival.
  • “Fred Korematsu Day” Pasadena held at the Donald Wright Auditorium, McKinley Elementary and Pasadena High School.
  • CAMP STORIES: Touring Show spotlighting stories of families before, during and after Internment during WWII. (Southern California Radio Broadcasters & Cal State Fullerton). CAMP STORIES AWARD show at Santa Anita Tracks in 2012. 
  • LA Koi Fun Run – 5/10K run through the middle of downtown Los Angeles during the Democratic National Convention with over 350 runners.
 
AWARDS:  Industry Awards: Nominated for 5 international event awards, winning 3 – Gala Awards from The Special Event Association & Two Esprit Awards from the International Special Events Society.  Won 5 regional/chapter awards from the International Special Events Society, and a Legacy Award from the Western Region. 
  • Received State of California Legislative Women In Business Award from State Senator Jack Scott and Assembly members Paul Krekorian and Anthony Portantino.
  • Recognized with a Volunteer Service Award from the Pasadena Council of Women’s Club. 
 
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Founded and operated City Personnel Services in 1983, a temporary-help employment service located in the Mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles, had a staff of 250 and sold it in 1992 to Stivers, a national temporary service. 
  • Wrote for Working World Magazine for three years and created “Working Around the World” column.
  • Provided free always-capacity filled workshop “Dispelling the Older Myths During the Job Search Process”.  Appeared on television and radio shows promoting the value of employing older Americans and dispelling stereotypes. Guest Speaker at the USC Center on Aging Job Fair with over 350 attendees.  Also speaker for the State of California, Time of Your Life Expo, and 40+.
 
COMMUNITY WORK/INVOLVEMENT
  • MEDIATOR – Los Angeles County Bar Association - Volunteer Certified Court & Community Mediator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association for 14 years.  Mediated and resolved the first Superior Court Judge-requested mediation in Los Angeles. 
  • Key community involvement includes: ROTARY CLUB PASADENA: Co-Chair, Fundraising & Chair, Public Relations, (named 2016 Rotarian of the Year). PASADENA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Served on Executive Board; EAST WEST PLAYERS: Board President/Co-President for 10 years (the largest Asian American theatre and oldest theater of color in the United States); CITY OF PASADENA: Status of Women Commission; INTERNATIONAL SPECIAL EVENTS SOCIETY Greater LA Chapter: Board of Directors; WOMEN’S TRANSPORTATION SEMINAR: LA Chapter; Board of Directors; AUTRY MUSEUM OF WESTERN HERITAGE: Friends Committee; CAREER ENCORES: Business Advisory Counsel – created and spoke at the Employers Forum; PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION:  Advisory Committee; EMPLOYMENT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, STATE OF CALIFORNIA:  Business Advisory Committee; CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF TEMPORARY SERVICES: Board & Executive Board; and ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN ARTISTS: President of Board (organization created to educate mainstream media on the effects ‘stereotyping’ has on Asian Americans).  Increased paid membership by 30%.

Wendy was born, raised and continues to reside in Pasadena along with her husband of 36 years and their dog Kori.
